Perusahaan Otomonil National Sendirian Berhad (PROTON)
Perusahaan Otomonil National Sendirian Berhad (Company Otomonil National Limited) or its abbreviation Proton was the first car manufacturer in Malaysia. It was established on 7 May 1983 with a paid-up capital of 150 million Ringgit. It was set up to achieve the aspirations of the Industrialized State, inspired by Tun Dr Mahathir Bin Mohamad, then Prime Minister of Malaysia.
The first car model at that time was Proton Saga announced on June 27, 1984. Proton Saga began commercial production on 1 July 1985
The opening of the First Proton Factory was July 9, 1985, officiated by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad at the time.
As long as Proton started to operate, Proton Company has succeeded in producing many car models. Apart from the Proton market, it has successfully marketed its production products overseas.

Myself also follow our country motor industry... this also remind me when proton saga appear in Mr. Bean series. A lot of people outside there using proton instead our selves. for instance, in turkey, there is a club on PROTON. We as malaysian should instill patriotism by bought PROTON mobile.
